Public Engagement

The Ancient Voices Projects believes that understanding the ancient world can improve lives.

The Conflicting Identities North West Project aims to bring the Rylands Papyri to the attention of students and school children in North West England and use this as a medium to confront difficult issues concerning identity, politics and religion.

The Faces&Voices Exhibition is on at John Rylands Library, Deansgate from the 19th July – 25th November 2012.  The exhibition explores family relationships, religious and gender identity, and the tensions surrounding social and religious participation in Greco-Roman Egypt. It aims to raise awareness of the wonderful cultural treasures held in the city of Manchester and shed new light on the importance and relevance of these objects today.Take a look at our events page to see what will be happening around the exhibition at John Rylands Library in the coming months.
